Special Education Advisory Council
What Is the Special Education Advisory Council?
The Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is a group of parents, educators, and community members who work together to improve special education services in our district. The council gives feedback to the superintendent, reviews data, and helps build strong communication between families and schools.
Who Can Join?
We welcome applications from:
- Parents or guardians of students with disabilities (these make up at least half of the council)
- Teachers, principals, paraprofessionals
- Community members who support students with disabilities
Parents from all grade levels—elementary, middle, and high school—are encouraged to apply.
What Does the Council Do?
- Meets three times a year
- Reviews special education programs, data, and services
- Shares ideas and recommendations with the district
- Helps increase community awareness and support for special education
