When a student is found eligible for special education services under the criteria outlined in Bulletin 1508: Pupil Appraisal Handbook, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is created by an IEP team that includes the parent or guardian. The IEP outlines the student’s specific instructional goals based on the results of the evaluation and identifies the least restrictive environment where those services can be provided. This may include the general education classroom, a special education setting, or a combination of both, depending on the student’s individual needs.
If you have questions or concerns about your child’s services or educational plan, please reach out to your child’s special education teacher or a school administrator for assistance.
