GROUPING FOR INSTRUCTION
All grades, first through eighth, with four (4) or more sections will be divided at the median based on standardized test results and kindergarten exit tests for first grade. Each of these two (2) groups will be heterogeneously grouped controlling the variables of race, sex, and class rank.
In grades having five (5) or seven (7) sections, the dividing point will be adjusted to accommodate the larger number of sections in the top group. For example, in a grade containing seven (7) sections, the top group would contain four (4) sections and the bottom group would have three sections.
All grades with three (3) or less sections will be heterogeneously grouped controlling the variables of race, sex, and class rank.
