In cases of anticipated absence or where the employee cannot report to work as scheduled, the employee shall notify his/her supervisor as soon as possible after the employee becomes aware that he/she will be absent from work. Continual absence by the employee shall be conveyed to the employee’s supervisor on a regular basis. The frequency of contact that may be required shall be determined by the supervisor.
TIME SCHEDULES
Teachers and Instructional Support Personnel
All teachers in the Richland Parish School System are expected to arrive at their individual school at least twenty (20) minutes prior to the beginning of each school day and remain there until busses have left. Exceptions to this time schedule may be made by the individual principal when, in his/her opinion, a justifiable request has been made in advance by the teacher.
Principals and the administrative staff should be in their buildings ahead of students or teachers, and should remain in their buildings until students and teachers have gone from school. Principals who leave their buildings for any purpose, other than attendance at civic clubs, principals' meetings, going to the administrative offices of the Richland Parish School Board, or other routine business affairs connected with the schools shall secure prior approval of the Superintendent of Schools for such absence.
Teachers should remain on campus during planning periods and utilize time for proper preparation for instruction, except when authorized by the principal.

All employees should notify their immediate supervisor at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to being absent from their job, whenever possible.

Any employee on unauthorized leave shall receive no pay for those days which constituted the unauthorized leave and may be subject to dismissal and/or other disciplinary actions.
