SAFETY PROGRAM

A system-wide program of safety shall be maintained in order to prevent accidents or injury to health of students, employees, and other citizens from fire, natural disasters, mechanical and electrical malfunction, and avoidable hazards.

Provisions of the safety program shall be in compliance with all state and federal guidelines.  All available information and assistance shall be outlined in the Richland Parish Safety Handbook.  As a part of the safety program, the School Board shall require monthly workplace inspections of the buildings and grounds by the principal or his/her designee.  A copy of the completed inspection shall be sent to the Safety Coordinator.  Bi-monthly safety meetings shall be held at all schools and documentation shall be submitted to the Safety Coordinator.

Any student using in the course of his/her studies any device dangerous or hazardous to the eyes shall be furnished with and shall wear goggles made of a material to protect the eyes from such hazards.
