POLICY ADOPTION

Policies introduced and recommended to the Richland Parish School Board shall not be adopted until a subsequent meeting.  Thus, time shall be given to permit further study and also to give opportunity for interested parties to react.  However, temporary approval may be granted by the Board, in lieu of formal policy, to meet emergency conditions or special events which will take place before formal action can be taken.

The formal adoption of policies shall be in official meetings of the Board and shall be considered at the next regular meeting following the introduction of the policy.  The Board's action shall be recorded in the minutes of the Richland Parish School Board.  Only those written statements so adopted, so recorded and so added to the Board policy manual shall be regarded as official Board policies.

All Board action relating to policy recommendation or adoption must take place in official meetings.
