TERMS OF OFFICE

Members of the Richland Parish School Board shall serve for four-year concurrent terms.  School Board members shall be elected at the same time as members of the United States Congress are elected to office.

When elected for a full term, a School Board member shall begin on January 1, following his/her election and expire on December 31, four years later.  Effective January 1, 2014, School Board members shall be limited to three (3) consecutive four-year terms.

If a School Board member is appointed to fill an unexpired term, the appointed member shall not be eligible for election to the School Board in the next election after having served for more than 2 ½ terms in 3 consecutive terms.
