Agenda Mr. Calvert moved, seconded by Mr. Guine to approve the finance committee’s 2012-2013

Item 5         budgetary cuts proposal as follows:

            1.         Vacant technology coordinator position. COST EFFECT: $100,000 savings

            2.         Vacant graduation coach position. COST EFFECT: $50,000 savings

            3.         Vacant school psychologist position replacement. COST EFFECT: $30,000 savings

            4.         Eliminate (2) teacher positions allocated as exception. COST EFFECT: $110,000 savings

            5.         Eliminate (3) central office halftime/part-time classified positions. COST EFFECT: $20,000 savings

            6.         Eliminate (1) general funds paraprofessional positions. COST EFFECT: $30,000 savings

            7.         Consolidate (1) bus route. COST EFFECT: $20,000 savings

            8.         Eliminate $250 teacher allocation from general funds. COST EFFECT: $60,000 savings

            9.         Vacant principal position. COST EFFECT: $100,000.00 savings

            10.        Suspend textbook allocation for 2012-13. COST EFFECT: $90,000 savings

            11.        High school librarians to teach Carnegie credit courses. COST EFFECT: $100,000 savings

            12.        Eliminate national board certification supplement. COST EFFECT: $30,000 savings

            13.        Suspend all sabbatical leaves for 2012-13 except those for catastrophic medical leave.

                        COST EFFECT: $170,000 savings

            14.        Suspend extended sick leave for 2012-13. COST EFFECT: $210,000 savings

            15.        Reduction to maintenance and operations budget. COST EFFECT: $60,000 savings

            16.        Eliminate (1) teacher position per school [except RCCA]. COST EFFECT: 11 @ $50,000 = $600,000 savings
